How do we define “sustainable”?

We understand and use the term “sustainable” from the “3P’s”

Sustainable: /səˈsteɪnəb(ə)l/

Good for people, the planet, and profit.

Our mantra and work are guided and inspired by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, specifically goal number 12 (link), responsible consumption and production: “Goal n.12 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development aims to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.”

What if … dentistry became more sustainable?

If you’re a dentist or oral care provider and practitioner, you can reflect on your workday and how much material is used per patient. This got us thinking:

  • What if we could reduce the overall consumption of necessary products, while maintaining their quality for care?

  • What if we could find ways to produce and procure these with more renewable, ecological raw materials?

  • What if we could re-think the patient experience and thereby improve the overall health, meaning, and fun (yes, fun!) of visiting a dentist clinic?

And then the idea was born out of passion and necessity to continuously improve. So here, with you and the community, we will take on these questions with curiosity, excitement, and experiments. We look forward to sharing it with you!

So definitely make sure you don’t miss a beat - sign up for the newsletter today to get started.

Saluti,

Your Sustainable Dentistry Team
